I spent time driving around a ranch with a new friend and his dog, Ruby. Ruby is old and he wanted to capture her and this ranch before it was too late. It’s not my story to tell, but the “coincidences” in life we learn are probably not coincidental and the power of perseverance, hope and sometimes a dog can seem to give us what we need for a day to carry us through to the next and so on. As we near the end of our time in West Texas I am happy to have met the people that I’ve met and in this case, captured something special that mattered a lot to someone. It’s a reminder that the simplest of things are often the most profound and the most valuable.
